OTTAWA, May 21 /CNW Telbec/ - Renowned Indian economist Suman K. Bery
will speak in Ottawa on May 22 as part of The India Lectures organized by
Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC). In his
presentation, "India, Global Finance and the G-20: What lessons, what agenda?"
Mr Bery will discuss India's economic growth and resiliency in the context of
the world economy.

Suman K. Bery is Director General of India's National Council of Applied
Economic Research (NCAER), one of the country's most distinguished non-profit
independent economic research organizations and a long-standing IDRC partner.
He serves as an advisor to the country's official, financial, and business
communities and is a respected commentator and columnist on Indian economic
Mr Bery's talk is the tenth in a year-long series organized by IDRC. The
India Lectures highlights the wealth of eminent thinkers and stimulating ideas
emanating from this rising global power. The series is being held to celebrate
IDRC's 25th anniversary of its office in New Delhi and the Centre's enduring
and valued collaboration with its Indian research partners.
