TORONTO, March 5 /CNW/ - The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is
preparing for another busy March Break at Toronto Pearson. Passenger traffic
will be higher than usual this weekend leading into March Break. Passengers
should be aware of airport services as well as packing restrictions to make
their journey as smooth as possible.
The GTAA anticipates Friday, March 7th to be the busiest travel day
leading into March Break with more than 100,000 passengers expected that day,
which is an increase of 14 percent compared to a typical day.
Sunday, March 16th is expected to be the busiest day at the end of
March Break with 97,000 passengers expected that day, an increase of 9 percent
compared to a typical day.
Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status before travelling
to the airport through their airlines directly or by visiting www.gtaa.com.
Passengers can check with their airline for information on baggage allowances
and suggested check-in times.
The GTAA urges passengers to be aware of restrictions on liquids, gels
and aerosols when packing their carry on luggage. More than 600,000 prohibited
items are collected from travellers at Pearson Airport per week. Passengers
are asked to pay special attention when packing to help reduce this number.
Liquids, gels and aerosols must be packed in 100 ml containers and fit
into a single litre clear and resealable plastic bag per passenger. For more
