Absolute Software Surpasses One Million Customer Subscriptions

Absolute now delivers computer theft recovery, mobile data protection and
secure asset tracking services to more than one million mobile computers
    every day

VANCOUVER, March 13 /CNW/ - Absolute Software ("Absolute") (TSX: ABT),
the leading provider of patented, firmware-based, Computrace(R) Computer Theft
Recovery, Mobile Data Protection and Secure Asset Tracking(TM) solutions, is
pleased to announce that, as of February 28, 2007, it has surpassed a
milestone of one million active customer subscriptions under contract.
"Surpassing one million customer subscriptions, four months ahead of
schedule, was a key milestone and is also a testament to Absolute's leadership
in establishing this important new mobile computer security standard," said
John Livingston, Chairman and CEO of Absolute Software. "We have now joined
the elite group of 'software as a service' companies successfully delivering
'on demand' services to over one million paid customers."
Mr. Livingston continued: "Upon achieving the one million customer
subscription milestone, we have set a new objective of three million customer
subscriptions by June 30, 2009 - projecting to substantially grow our business
over the next two years. On the heels of our recent OEM agreements, strong
growth in all our market segments, growing data privacy concerns, and embedded
BIOS support in more than 30 million laptops shipped annually worldwide - we
believe we are positioned to achieve this new three million customer
subscription goal."
Absolute's capabilities are global. For example, a U.S. Government
customer recently experienced the theft of a laptop containing confidential
data while in Russia on business. Within 24 hours Absolute had deleted all of
the confidential data from the hard drive, and within 48 hours the Company led
police to the alleged thief and laptop. In cases like this, Absolute has been
able to spare its clients some of the damaging consequences of such losses,
which can include embarrassing media coverage, loss of customer confidence and
legal action.
"Mobile computing continues to proliferate and with it, so does the
requirement for mobile security to protect the asset and data against loss and
theft," added Mr. Livingston. "We are here to provide this protection and the
peace of mind that comes with it."
