Above Security announces its approval as a qualified security assessor for PCI-DSS standard

    MONTREAL, Feb. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Above Security, a Canadian firm
supporting its customers in their information risks management, is proud to
announce the PCI Security Standards Council approval as a Qualified Security
Assessor (QSA) in the providing of the Payment Card Industry-Data Security
Standard (PCI DSS) audit service. This certification will allow Above Security
to accompany its customers in the audit process of the PCI DSS standard. This
standard, developed by major credit card companies, aims at protecting their
clients' personal data in order to reduce risks of frauds. It has to be
applied by any organization that process, store or transmit credit card
related data.
By obtaining this PCI QSA certification, Above Security wishes to
continue to accompany its customers that need to comply with the standard.
"Information Risks Management has been Above Security's primary mandate
for the last ten years" points out Mr Guy Langevin, Above Security's General
Manager. "By providing PCI certification services, we allow our customers to
be relieved from the anxiety created by the obligation to comply to PCI DSS,
while reducing their information risks."
PCI DSS compliance allows organizations to better manage the risks
related to their customers' confidential information while optimizing their
business processes. It limits the risks that an organization be negatively
exposed further to a fraud. Finally, it avoids organizations to suffer from
non compliance consequences such as fines, transaction costs increase and
damages to corporate image.
The Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certification obtained by Above
Security adds to the other governance standards and agreements like Basel 2,
ISO 27001 and the Word Lottery Association (WLA) for which the company offers
training and consulting services. All these services are offered in French,
English and Spanish.
"Above Security's Qualified Security Assessor's certification arrives
right on time, in a market where the protection of confidential and personal
information is an increasing concern." continues Guy Langevin. Above Security
will be able to guide businesses through PCI-DSS compliance and therefore
contribute to the prevention of frauds and identity thefts.
