Abitibi Geophysics Launches New InfiniTEM XL Survey and Expanded Services at PDAC Convention

TORONTO, March 6, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - At the PDAC Convention (March 5-8, 2017), Abitibi Geophysics will introduce unprecedented opportunities and innovations to the Canadian mining exploration industry. The convention marks the launch of its new InfiniTEM XL survey and its new partnerships with SEMM Logging, GEOFARA and Pioneer Aerial Survey, resulting in one of the largest range of exploration technologies and services in North America.

The InfiniTEM XL – Meeting the Depth and Overburden Challenge
Having already achieved significant results with InfiniTEM, Abitibi Geophysics is bringing the "XL" version to the market. With more than four times the power capability over conventional technology, this innovation will allow for increased exploration depths and distances along strike, as well as an increase in volume of exploration around and below the borehole.

"The InfiniTEM XL is more than the enhanced version of an existing product. It is the culmination of our vast field experience. With two transmitters, we have more power available to achieve greater depth – and in our experience, more depth often leads to more discoveries," says Pierre Bérubé, PEng., President of Abitibi Geophysics.

Partnerships with SEMM Logging, GEOFARA and Pioneer Aerial Surveys
Abitibi Geophysics has entered into a strategic partnership with SEMM Logging, a worldwide well logging company able to ensure optimal accuracy even under extreme conditions. Through this endeavour, the full suite of borehole logging tools will be offered.

Furthermore, a similar partnership has been set up with GEOFARA, the pioneers of cross-hole radio imaging (RIM). With this technology, electromagnetic wave attenuation detects conductive bodies between borehole pairs, defining the discovered bodies and contour of the mineralized zone.

Abitibi Geophysics also form a partnership with Pioneer Aerial Surveys Ltd., the industry leader in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) remote sensing for mineral exploration. We now offer AeroVision, using Pioneer's proven UAV-MAG™ system. This technology offers magnetic survey with a low level flight survey, producing high-resolution data.
