ABB acquires PowerTran Company Ltd.



    PowerTran acquisition further strengthens ABB's service position in
    Western Canada

    EDMONTON, Oct. 29 /CNW Telbec/ - ABB, the leading power and automation
technology company, announced today it has acquired the assets of PowerTran
Company Ltd., an Edmonton, Alberta-based field and repair transformer service
center that employs about 25 employees.

Remanufacturing & Engineering Services) organization, including Brampton,
Ontario, Varennes, Quebec, Nashville, Tennessee, South Boston, Virginia, and
St. Louis, Missouri. ABB TRES provides major transformer and overhaul services
for utilities and large industrial consumers.
