'A'-Plus: Fringe Gains Momentum on 'A'



    TORONTO, Oct. 1 /CNW/ - Fringe continues to put 'A' at the front of the
line: the must-see drama from J.J. Abrams scored 808,000 viewers last night,
up double digits in all three key demos since last week and besting Global's
90210 among A25-54 in both Toronto and Vancouver. Since delivering the largest
audience for a new series premiere this fall, Fringe continues to gain
momentum, cementing the exciting - and darkly humorous - series as appointment
television for Canadian viewers. Fringe is the No. 1 new series on 'A' and the
second most-watched series overall on the hot new network following Two and a
Half Men. Also to note:

    
    -  Nationally at 9 p.m., Fringe (808,000) on 'A' delivered more viewers
       than the season premiere of The Tudors (CBC; 651,000) and challenged
       90210 (Global; 847,000) among total viewers.
    -  In Toronto last night, Fringe delivered more viewers than 90210 in its
       time-slot, No. 1 among A18-49 and No. 2 among A25-54 (behind Dancing
       With the Stars)
    -  In Vancouver last night, Fringe was No. 1 in its time-slot among
       A18-34 and A25-54, and No. 2 among A18-49.
    -  In Calgary last night, Fringe was No. 1 in its time-slot among A25-54,
       A18-49 and A18-34.
    -  Fringe is a huge hit with younger viewers: the series' A18-34 audience
       has more than tripled since its premiere four weeks ago and has seen
       growth in each week of broadcast.
    

    Last night's episode of Fringe is now available on demand on the CTV
Video Player at CTV.ca. In the next episode of Fringe, "Power Hungry"
(Wednesday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET on 'A'), a man's ability to harness
electricity attracts the attention of Olivia, Peter and Dr. Bishop.

    Tonight, 'A' features an all-new America's Next Top Model at 8 p.m. ET,
followed by the Season 2 premieres of Private Practice at 9 p.m. ET and Dirty
