MONTREAL, June 7 /CNW Telbec/ - The 21st Golf Classic, benefiting the
Foundation for Research into Children's Diseases was a great success, raising
over $246,000 for the Foundation. Under the Honorary Chairmanship of Larry
Smith, President of the Montreal Alouette's, over 250 golfers got together at
the Laval-sur-le-Lac Golf Club, to help a very worthy cause and have some fun.
The day ended with CTV's Lori Graham and Claudia Marques of TVA's acting as
MCs, followed by an auction and silent auction which brought out the
generosity of everyone present.
The partners of the event were Aubainerie, Denarius Financial Group and
the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as Principal Partners, Boyz, Spago resto
bar, Lexus Laval, Power Corporation of Canada, Vitreco and Scully the World

The Foundation supports research at four hospitals in Quebec: The
Montreal Children's Hospital, Ste-Justine's Hospital, and the pediatric
research centres at the CHUQ in Quebec City and the CHUS in Sherbrooke, and is
the most important source of non-governmental funding for pediatric research
in Quebec, having distributed $53 114 000 to support children's health
research since its first telethon in 1977.
