CALGARY, April 25 /CNW/ - Global Calgary today announced their Morning
News format will feature an all-new 5:30am start beginning April 30th -
offering Calgarians an extra 30 minutes of daybreak coverage, and the city's
most comprehensive look at traffic, weather and the day's headlines.
"As Calgary continues to grow, we've seen the morning rush hour start
earlier each year," says Dave Budge, news director of Global Calgary. "The
5:30am start for our Morning News will give the city's early risers access to
the crucial news, weather and traffic information they need to start their
day."
In addition, commuters across greater Calgary can get a first look at the
drive and the day's breaking stories from the "Global 1" Calgary News
Helicopter.
"Global Calgary's Morning News is the city's most-watched morning
newscast and we've always provided viewers with the most experienced news team
in the city," says Budge. "Now, we're adding more resources to provide even
better coverage with Calgary's only satellite truck for live reports and
'Global 1' - the city's only television news helicopter for breaking news and
traffic information."
Join anchors Angela Kokott and Bruce McAllister on the Global Morning
News at 5:30 to 9 a.m.
