OTTAWA, March 10, 2015 /CNW/ - A+ Academy is a unique international boarding school set aboard the Norwegian tall ship S.S. Sørlandet. Setting sail from Norway in August 2015, sixty grade 11 and 12 students will begin a year-long journey that will take them around the world and see them stop at over twenty ports worldwide. A+ Academy prepares students for their future through the powerful combination of unparalleled personal development in the microcosm of a shipboard community and exceptional academic experiences in the macrocosm of the planet.
"Employability in the 21st century is a major challenge facing the 20 to 30 year old demographic" says Terry Davies, A+ Academy's Head of School. "What studies are showing is that a significant number of unemployed youth do not believe that education will improve their chances of becoming employed and that similarly, many employers are concerned that graduates are not prepared for the job market, even after postsecondary education".
"A+ Academy's aim is to bridge the gap between education and employability," continues Davies. "Through world travel, academic excellence, and the development of highly valued cross-cultural interpersonal skills, A+ students will acquire advantages that place them at the top of university and job opportunity lists". A+ Academy defines itself through students who have made the world their classroom and who pursue the changes that will make the world a better place for them and for others.
