750 Instructional Support Staff with Halifax Regional School Board have tentative agreement



    HALIFAX, April 30 /CNW/ - Instructional Support Staff with the Halifax
Regional School Board have reached a tentative agreement with their employer.
    CUPE National Representative Jacquie Bramwell says, "While the union will
not be releasing any of the details until a ratification meeting is held, the
Bargaining Committee is recommending the deal be accepted."
    Bramwell says they hope to be able to present the package to members of
Local 108, Unit Three within the next 2 weeks. Details of that meeting will be
announced.
    CUPE represents some 750 Educational Program Assistants, Library Support
Specialists, Student Support Workers and Community Support Workers with the
HRSB.
    Their contract had expired July 31, 2006. Bargaining commenced in
September, 2006.
