CHAM, Switzerland, June 11 /CNW/ - RapidShare AG, a popular
1-click-hoster, has today announced the winner of its RapidShare Lottery. Over
500,000 people took part in the prize draw by exchanging RapidPoints for
raffle tickets. And the winner is 19 year old Srishti A. from India. Bobby
Chang, COO of RapidShare AG, will be presenting her with the prize and
congratulating the young Indian in person at the beginning of July.
"The lottery really went down well with our users and was a complete
success," comments Bobby Chang about how the competition went, before adding,
"users from 60 countries took part in our 50,000 euro prize draw and we are
very proud that the 'RapidPoints' bonus programme is used so extensively
across the world."
RapidShare was somewhat surprised by the large number of participants and
therefore decided to give away 1000 prizes of 10,000 RapidPoints in addition
to the main prize of 50,000 euros. The winners of these prizes will be
informed by e-mail and will automatically be credited with the RapidPoints.
These can be redeemed against, for example, a new premium account.
Taking part in the RapidShare Lottery was very simple: users could just
exchange 50 RapidPoints for a raffle ticket that was then automatically
included in the draw for the mega prize. RapidPoints are gained via uploaded
files and their resulting downloads.
RapidShare AG distributes digital information for businesses and private
individuals. Data can be uploaded to the system in just a few steps and then
made available for download by recipients. RapidShare AG was founded in 2006
and has its head office in Cham in Switzerland.
