40th Anniversary and Dynamic Redesign at Ontario OUT OF DOORS Magazine



    Ontario Out of doors celebrates 40 years and a bold new look in this
    February's issue, mailing to subscribers on January 22nd and available on
    newsstands February 4th.

    TORONTO, Jan. 22 /CNW/ - In conjunction with the start of its 40th
anniversary year, Ontario OUT OF DOORS is proud to announce the launch of a
completely redesigned magazine. Ontario OUT OF DOORS' new look will bring to
light new sections, new columns and new features. Driven by the results of a
comprehensive 2006 Readership Survey, the new design and content will
strengthen and build on a 40-year relationship with Canadian anglers and
hunters while remaining true to the core mission of inspiring, enabling and
informing readers.
    "Anglers and hunters are passionate about their outdoor pursuits and
deserve the best how-to, where-to and with-what information to fuel their
passion," writes Ontario OUT OF DOORS editor-in-chief Matt Nicholls. "We're
committed to delivering the goods in a vibrant, appealing, insightful
package."
    The 40th Anniversary Ontario OUT OF DOORS redesign issue will be on
newsstands starting February 4th.

    
    The 2008 Ontario OUT OF DOORS redesign features:

    -   A Stronger editorial package:
    More news, columns, tips, how-to stories, travel pieces and features to
    inspire, enable, inform as well as more ways for readers to share and
    interact.

    -   New areas of coverage:
    Columns and tips sections will be added for family fishing, boats/motors,
    conservation and volunteer efforts.

    -   New products coverage/field tests:
    More coverage of new products plus introduction of field tests on hunting
    and fishing gear.

    The Ontario OUT OF DOORS 40th Anniversary issue, the launch of the new
design includes:

    -   An intriguing timeline of the most influential changes and news
        stories affecting the Ontario outdoors community
    -   Colour retrospective of 40-years of Ontario OUT OF DOORS covers
    -   Focus on trends and new products in angling and hunting
    -   A fantastic 40th Anniversary contest for readers with a grand prize
        fly-in fishing trip to Esnagami Lodge, located in Northwestern
        Ontario.
    

    Other changes slated for this year include the launch of a comprehensive
gear guide in the March Fishing Annual timed to correspond with the Toronto
Sportmen's Show where 20,000 additional copies will be distributed to
attendees.
    This ties in with the newly formed marketing relationship between Ontario
OUT OF DOORS and the Canadian National Sportmen's Shows which will see OOD as
the exclusive outdoor publication sponsor of the CNSS's Ottawa and Toronto
shows as well as the Great Ontario Salmon Derby.
