    For The Love of Children

MONTREAL, Jan. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Many of the city's top business, sports
and entertainment personalities will be competing in skating, cross-country
skiing and running events at the 3rd annual Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation
Winter Triathlon on Friday, February 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Parc
Maisonneuve. The friendly sporting event is organized by the Young Leaders
Circle of the Foundation with the goal of raising $200,000 to support priority
needs in perinatal care (from 5 months before to 1 month after birth). The
mission of the Young Leaders Circle is to mobilize, inspire and engage dynamic
young Quebec professionals and businesspeople in support of the Sainte-Justine
University Hospital Centre (UHC).
Over 70 teams are expected to compete in 4 categories: Elite, Men, Women
and Mixed. Each team is made up of 3 participants and 1 team captain and pays
$2,500 to the Foundation to register for the Triathlon.
"Our fundraising event has become very popular with young professionals
and entrepreneurs in the Greater Montreal Area," said Annie Lemieux,
chairperson of the Triathlon Organizing Committee and vice-president at Groupe
LSR. "We're very happy to mobilize a growing number of athletes, eager to do
their best in supporting Sainte-Justine UHC and also looking forward, at the
same time, to having lots of winter fun!"

    Pierre Boivin Challenge

In order to maximize funding to the Saint-Justine perinatality unit, all
registered teams can also take part in the Pierre Boivin Award, something new
to the Triathlon this year. The team that raises the most funds by getting
donations from friends, family and co-workers will win the Award, which they
can proudly display it in their own office until the next Triathlon in 2010.
Pierre Boivin, president of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club and Chairman of
the board of Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation, will be on hand at the
Triathlon to present the award to the winning team.
Anyone wishing to register a team for the event can still do so by
visiting triathlon-sainte-justine.org.

    The Young Leaders Circle

The Young Leaders Circle is a committee of young volunteers that reports
to the board of directors of the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation. The group
raises funds and organizes activities for their peers so that mothers and
children can continue to benefit from medical care that is ranked among the
best in the world. The Circle organizes three fundraising events annually: the
Winter Triathlon, the Mont-Royal Bal (April 4, 2009) and the Lueur d'espoir
(September 10, 2009).

    Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation

The Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation endeavours to assure the
continuity of Sainte-Justine's leadership as the only Quebec University
Hospital Centre devoted exclusively to the health of children, adolescents and
mothers. To achieve its goals, the foundation builds a true partnership
between the hospital and its donors to create a legacy for the future.
