Third Million-plus windfall claimed in Alberta within two weeks!
ST. ALBERT, AB, Oct. 5 /CNW/ - Fall may be in the air, but the past two
weeks have been super hot in Alberta with three wins of $1 Million or more!
The third lucky winner is Nick McKay from Sherwood Park, claiming $2 Million
on the SCRATCH 'N WIN game SUPER SET FOR LIFE!
Nick recently stopped by the 7-Eleven Food Store, at 12654 Fort Road in
Edmonton, and bought some SCRATCH 'N WIN tickets. He'd bought a BLACKJACK, a
DEAL OR NO DEAL and also wanted a $5 SET FOR LIFE. However, the clerk
accidentally grabbed a $10 SUPER SET FOR LIFE from the ticket merchandiser.
"She was going to cancel it, but I said I would take it... lucky I did!"
The 29-year-old truck driver then headed out to visit friends, and while
still in his car, he scratched the SUPER SET FOR LIFE ticket. Nick was stunned
to discover he'd won the game's Top Prize of $2,000 a week for 25 years or a
lump sum of $2 Million!
"I did not move from my car," he recalled. "I did not believe it! I was
very overwhelmed - I'm still shaking like a leaf," continued the winner when
claiming his prize.
Opting for the lump sum payment, Nick said it's too soon to make any
major plans for his windfall. However he did say he plans to buy himself a new
car and an acreage, and may go into business for himself.
On September 21, 2007, a Calgary man won the first of 10 $1 Million
prizes offered on the $10 INSTANT LOTTO 6/49 SCRATCH 'N WIN ticket. This was
followed by a claim worth $8,800,833 by a Hinton woman who won the
September 15th LOTTO 6/49 Jackpot!
