MONTREAL, Nov. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - At the mid-point of its annual
fundraising campaign, Centraide of Greater Montreal is once again urging
people to give generously as part of a final all-out effort to attain its
$53 million goal.
Centraide has already raised over $37 million ($37,209,980), representing
70% of this ambitious goal, from corporations, their employees and individuals
in the community.
This is a crucial period for the 22,000 campaign volunteers who solicit
donations. Over the next few weeks, they must redouble their efforts in order
to raise another $16 million: this amount is essential for Centraide to
continue supporting its network of 360 community agencies that help
500,000 vulnerable people in Greater Montreal.
Centraide Campaign 2007 - co-chaired by Norman M. Steinberg, Co-Chair of
Ogilvy Renault LLP, and Thierry Vandal, President and CEO of Hydro-Québec -
winds up on December 11. In the meantime, persons wishing to make a donation
can do so by contributing in their workplace through payroll deduction, by
calling Centraide of Greater Montreal at 514 288-1261, or by visiting the "To
make your donation" section of its website at www.centraide-mtl.org.
Centraide of Greater Montreal is an independent organization managed by a
board of directors which is representative of the community. It serves the
Island of Montreal, Laval, and communities on the South Shore.
