15th edition of the International Economic Forum of the Americas, June 8 to 11, 2009 - Madeleine Albright and Bernard Kouchner confirm attendance at the 15th International Economic Forum of the Americas



    MONTREAL, April 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Madeleine Albright, the former U.S.
Secretary of State, and Bernard Kouchner, France's Minister of Foreign Affairs
and Minister of European Affairs, have confirmed their attendance at the 15th
International Economic Forum of the Americas / Conference of Montreal, taking
place this June 8 to 11 at the Bonaventure Hilton Hotel.
    Ms. Albright and Mr. Kouchner join an already prestigious roster of
keynote speakers including Jeffrey R. Immelt, CEO of General Electric (GE),
Robert B. Zoellick, President of the World Bank Group, and Dominique
Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Together, they will be seeking better ways of "Adapting to a New World Order."
    The first woman to be appointed U.S. Secretary of State, Ms. Albright
held the position in President Bill Clinton's administration, from 1997 to
2001, and remains a highly influential figure in world affairs. She is
Chairperson of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs and
President of the Truman Scholarship Foundation. She also advises President
Barack Obama on U.S. national security matters.
    Other respected speakers have already confirmed their participation in
the largest annual private economic forum to take place in the Americas,

    In addition, a large delegation representing the Chinese province of
Shandong, one of China's most industrialized regions, with a population of 90
million, has confirmed its presence. Suilian Wang, Vice-Governor of the
province, is among the keynote speakers at the Conference of Montréal.

the Americas / Conference of Montreal, welcomes the positive response of so
many influential players in the global economy. "We are currently going
through an economic crisis that will no doubt lead to profound changes in

    The 15th edition of the International Economic Forum of the Americas /
Conference of Montreal brings together more than 3,000 participants from all
