$100,000 for biomedical research in Montréal
A record amount for the IRCM Foundation's 10th bilan de santé - golf tournament
MONTREAL, June 14, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The 10th bilan de santé - golf tournament benefitting the IRCM took place last Monday, June 11. The event raised $100,000, a record amount that makes this anniversary event one to be remembered. Organized by the IRCM Foundation, the tournament was held under the honorary chairmanship of Stéphane Gauthier, President and CEO of Transelec/Common Inc.
"I am very satisfied with the results and am thankful for this great turnout," said Stéphane Gauthier at the end of the evening. "I was particularly proud to chair this event and support a renowned biomedical research institution in Montréal."
The prestigious Club de golf Rosemère was packed with the 152 golfers in attendance. Before their round of golf, approximately 60 players took advantage of the brief health check offered by nurses and physicians from the IRCM Clinic and Biron Groupe Santé. All elements, including the beautiful weather, contributed to a most successful event.
"I wish to thank everyone who contributed to our event's success: golfers, sponsors, donors and organizers," added Hélène Véronneau, IRCM Foundation Director. "We are very happy with these results. What a perfect way to celebrate our 10th anniversary! I would like to recognize the exceptional work of our honorary chairman, Stéphane Gauthier, and thank him for his invaluable commitment. I must also thank Jacques Gauthier who started this annual event 10 years ago. Mr. Gauthier continues to co-chair the tournament's organizational committee with Serge A. Boileau, both of whom are members of the IRCM Foundation's Board of Directors."
