CGA-Canada scores 'hat trick' with top honour as one of Canada's Greenest Employers

VANCOUVER AND OTTAWA, April 20, 2012 /CNW/ - For the third consecutive year, the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada) has been named one of Canada's Greenest Employers.

"Being a green company requires commitment and dedication to sustainable initiatives," says Anthony Ariganello, President and CEO of CGA-Canada. "We are proud that our employees participate in our green program and continue to offer creative solutions to keep our business place environmentally friendly."

CGA-Canada is dedicated to operating as a sustainable association and regards environmental responsibility as being a fundamental part of its business practices. The association finds meaningful ways to incorporate environmental considerations into its day-to-day business with such initiatives as:

  • Recyclable furniture and flooring, with work surfaces made from 100 per cent pre-consumer recycled wood fiber
  • Lighting system with 44 per cent fewer lamps than traditional systems
  • Coffee-grounds and filters composting program
  • Electronic device recycling program
  • Organized car-pool system
  • Employer Pass Program (public transit)
  • Employer-sponsored communal bikes
  • Reduced paper product usage by providing ceramic kitchenware

Now in its sixth year, Canada's Greenest Employers recognizes companies that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations. The reasons for selection are published at www.canadastop100.com/environmental.

CGA-Canada is also one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and B.C.'s Top 55 Employers.
