Scorpio Mining Appoints New Chairman

VANCOUVER, July 22 /CNW/ - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSX: SPM) ("Scorpio Mining" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ewan Mason as Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective as of July 14, 2010. Mr. Mason has been a Director of the Corporation since January 2010.

Peter J. Hawley, former Chairman, will continue to serve Scorpio Mining as CEO & Director.
