Cleanfield Providing Green Energy Solutions to Ontario Schools

HAMILTON, ON, Feb. 1 /CNW/ - Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. (TSX-V: AIR) ("Cleanfield"), an international leader in Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) solutions, announced today that the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board will purchase five of Cleanfield's proprietary V3.5 VAWTs and the Durham Catholic District School Board will purchase three turbines. The school boards are purchasing and showcasing new and innovative green products and technologies as part of Ontario's Green Schools Pilot Initiative. Cleanfield's 3.5kW VAWTs are scheduled to be installed in the Spring this year.

Cleanfield's CEO Tony Verrelli said, "We are proud to be part of the Ontario Ministry of Education's green energy initiative. In addition to the eight turbines, we have also installed two turbines at Mohawk College, one turbine at Elliot Lake Secondary School, six turbines at Durham College's Whitby Campus, five turbines at the Ministry of Natural Resources facility in Kenora, and one turbine at the Ministry of Transportation truck inspection station in Sarnia."

Tim Godin, Supervisor of Mechanical & Electrical Plant Services at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic School Board added, "Cleanfield's modern renewable energy wind turbines will reduce our dependence on power from the electric grid and will allow for wonderful educational green opportunities to support our EcoSchools programs."

Ontario MPP Ted McMeekin added, "Cleanfield Energy is about as cutting edge on the green energy front as anyone in North America. As an innovative local company, our government is pleased to team with them in building more sustainable communities."
