Public Service Announcement - VIA Rail Operations Update

Delays on some routes within Québec and Ontario

MONTREAL, Dec. 17 /CNW/ - Track snow removal efforts continue today
following the weekend storm that produced one of the largest snowfalls in
decades. Despite the heavy snowfall, VIA Rail wishes to advise travellers that
all trains are operating throughout the region. VIA operates some 60 trains
per day throughout the Windsor-Quebec City Corridor.
The heavy snowfall is causing delays of approximately one hour to some
VIA trains operating today in Ontario, Québec and the Maritimes.
VIA's call centres are experiencing higher than normal call volumes.
Customers wishing to purchase tickets can do so at viarail.ca. Customers
can also use ticket kiosks to avoid lengthy line-ups. Ticket kiosks are
located in the following corridor locations: Québec, Ste-Foy, Montréal,
Dorval, Ottawa, Fallowfield, Kingston, Belleville, Cobourg, Oshawa, Toronto,
Oakville, Aldershot, Brantford, Guelph, Kitchener, London and Windsor.
Information and reservations are also available at 1-888-VIA Rail (842-7245),
TTY 1-800 268-9503 (hearing impaired), or through your travel agent.
VIA Rail wishes to apologize for any inconvenience.
