BROSSARD, QC, March 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Catania president and CEO Paolo
Catania joined Yvon Nadeau, general manager of Nortrax/Longueuil, and Nortrax
president and CEO Jim Ficzere in a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start
of construction of a new Nortrax service and distribution centre on Montreal's
south shore today.
This $6 million real estate investment in the Catania Industrial Park in
Brossard is an initiative that represents sure value in the current economic
context," Mr. Catania said. "Nortrax specializes in sales and rentals of John
Deere heavy equipment for which there is strong demand and a healthy order
book. Catania has dealt with Nortrax for years and knows firsthand the
organization's reputation for reliability and a strong team."
"We are particularly proud to be locating in Brossard, and we believe
that the Catania Industrial Park is a strategic location for our organization
because of its proximity to the major access routes," Mr. Nadeau said. "We
project sales growth in the coming years, which will be driven by our seasoned
sales team, despite the downturn in the economy. In addition to offering a
modern, safe and secure work place for our employees, this new location was
chosen in large measure because of the Catania Real Estate Group's expertise
and reputation."
The Nortrax service and distribution centre will consist of a
30,000-square-foot building on 285,000 square feet of land featuring parking
for some 60 customer and staff vehicles. Nortrax currently employs 35 people
but anticipates hiring six new certified mechanics that will allow the
organization to maintain its leadership in heavy equipment in the Montérégie.
