Champions Will Be Declared at Canada's First-Ever National Championship for Club Curlers

TORONTO, Nov. 27 /CNW/ - Sunday afternoon, The Dominion Curling Club Championship - Canada's first-ever national championship for club curlers - culminates its inaugural event with tournament finals and on-ice closing ceremonies.

At 2:00PM EST, the top two men's and two women's teams - culled from round robin play that included every province and territory in the country - will play simultaneously for the honour of being declared Canada's first-ever national club curling champions. Players' spirits have been high since Tuesday's opening banquet, and on Sunday emotions are sure to reach new heights.

Following the championship victory, all 112 of our competing curlers will be piped onto the ice - in their provincial jackets and bearing their respective flags - for The Dominion Curling Club Championship's closing ceremonies. The event mascot, "Buttons", will be in attendance, and this is sure to be a colourful and moving hour as this first-of-its-kind amateur sports event draws to a close.

All profits from The Dominion Curling Club Championship will be donated to the CPA.
