CNW Group "Newsmakers" wins the TMX Cup at Frontier College's SCRABBLE(R) Corporate Challenge

CNW Group defeats 40 Bay Street SCRABBLE(R) teams at the fifth annual
    fundraiser for Frontier CollegeTORONTO, March 12 /CNW/ - Last night, top corporations from Bay Street's
financial, legal, technology and accounting sectors challenged their business
colleagues to a competitive game of SCRABBLE(R) for the chance to win the
coveted TMX Cup, in support of Frontier College, Canada's original literacy
organization.
    CNW Group "Newsmakers" demonstrated their SCRABBLE(R) acumen and
expertise by winning the TMX Cup with a score of 914 points and Frontier
College ended up a winner as well. Funds raised at last night's event support
Frontier College and its important mission to improve literacy rates across
Canada.
    "With more than 40% of Canadians struggling to read and write, our
SCRABBLE(R) Corporate Challenge is the perfect antidote. Having Bay Street
executives roll up their sleeves to play SCRABBLE(R), shows corporate Canada's
desire to be a part of the literacy solution," said Sherry Campbell,
President, Frontier College.
    Sponsored by TMX Group, the SCRABBLE(R) Corporate Challenge hosted 40
teams at the Design Exchange for an evening of fun, while supporting literacy.
Teams had the opportunity to up the ante by hiring local and international
SCRABBLE(R) champions, to help spell winning words. Since 2005, funds have
been raised to support Frontier College's important mission to improve
literacy rates across Canada.While competing for the chance to win the TMX Cup, teams competed in their
industry conferences. The 2009 conference winners are:
