TORONTO, March 9 /CNW/ - The Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB)
with the generous support of Direct Energy is proud to celebrate the launch of
Esurio: Journal of Hunger and Poverty on Tuesday, March 10th at the Centre for
Social Innovation. Esurio is a collaborative, online, open-source, student-led
and peer-reviewed academic journal. It is the first journal of its kind in
North America, covering topics from energy poverty and food security to social
enterprise and financial exclusion.
The first issue of the journal includes eight peer reviewed articles from
undergraduate and graduate students in Ontario, as well as invited
contributions featuring Professor Richard Florida (Director, Rotman Prosperity
Institute), Deryk King (Chairman & CEO, Direct Energy), Wayne Roberts (Acting
Manager, Toronto Food Policy Council), and Judith Maxwell (Senior Fellow,
Canadian Policy Research Networks).The details of the launch event are as follows:
