Top 20 Communities Face Off as Finalists in Kraft Celebration Tour in Celebration of TSN's 25th Anniversary

- Canada selects 10 winning communities in 10 days of online voting,
                             beginning July 13 -

         - SPORTSCENTRE broadcasts live from winning communities from
                              August 22 to 31 -TORONTO, July 1 /CNW/ - Canada...it's now up to you! Following an
outpouring of hometown pride from coast to coast, Kraft Canada and TSN today
announced the Top 20 communities selected as finalists for the Kraft
Celebration Tour. The Tour will see TSN's flagship sports news program,
SPORTSCENTRE, broadcast live from 10 communities across the country over a
period of 10 days. Now, the fate of these 20 communities rests in the hands of
their compatriots. Canadians can vote for the most-deserving tour stops during
10 days of intense, head-to-head online voting beginning Monday, July 13 (see
complete list of communities and voting match-ups/dates below).
    As part of the Kraft Celebration Tour, the winning communities will
receive one of ten $25,000 community refreshes from Kraft to be used for
improvements to a facility in the prize-winning area. In addition, Canada's
top-rated daily French-language sportscast, SPORTS 30 on RDS, will also join
the Kraft Celebration Tour, broadcasting live from any winning Francophone
communities. The Kraft Celebration Tour hits the road August 22-31 in
celebration of TSN's official 25th Anniversary on September 1, 2009.
    Beginning Monday, July 13, the Top 20 communities will be matched up and
go head-to-head in 10 days of online voting to determine the 10 stops for the
Kraft Celebration Tour. One match-up will be featured on both
www.TSN.ca/kraftcelebrationtour and www.RDS.ca/tourneedecelebrationkraft per
day, and Canadians can visit either website to vote for their favourite Kraft
Celebration Tour destinations through July 24. During the voting period,
SPORTSCENTRE and SPORTS 30 will highlight the day's featured match-up with a
look at the dueling communities and its proposed community refreshes. Results
of each vote will be announced the following day on SPORTSCENTRE and SPORTS
30.
    The 20 communities selected as finalists for the Kraft Celebration Tour,

    -   Friday, July 17: Watrous, SK vs. Wynyard, SK
    -   Monday, July 20: Harbour Grace, NFLD vs. Paradise, NFLD
    -   Tuesday, July 21: Perth-Andover, NB vs. Fredericton Junction, NB
    -   Wednesday, July 22: Winnipeg, MB vs. Dauphin, MB
    -   Thursday, July 23: Dartmouth, NS vs. Amherst, NS
    -   Friday, July 24: Elk Lake, ON vs. St. Marys, ONThe Kraft Celebration Tour kicks off on August 22, with SPORTSCENTRE
hosts Darren Dutchyshen and Jennifer Hedger travelling to Western Canada and
Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole visiting Eastern Canada to put the spotlight on
local communities and the accomplishments of local athletes. In addition,
veteran anchors Chantal Machabée and Marc Labrecque host SPORTS 30 from
winning Francophone communities.
    The Kraft Celebration Tour editions of SPORTSCENTRE will air from August
22 to 31 at 6:30 p.m. ET on TSN, leading up to TSN's 25th anniversary on
September 1. All episodes of SPORTSCENTRE are in High Definition and encore
presentations will air on TSN2 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Tournée de célébration
Kraft editions of SPORTS 30 will air at 6:30 p.m. ET on RDS.
    A total of 434 nominations were submitted from more than 330 communities
across the country, with an additional 2,757 (and counting!) comments
submitted by community members in support of their local nomination. The 20
finalist communities were selected based on their essay and photos describing
how a $25,000 community refresh from Kraft would make a difference in their
community. In addition, their nominations had to demonstrate their community's
spirit and passion for sports and a healthy and active lifestyle.
    The Kraft Celebration Tour is supported by a multifaceted marketing
campaign that utilizes TSN and RDS broadcasts and online platforms, as well as
media throughout the CTVglobemedia family. In-store displays are also set-up
in targeted grocery stores across Canada throughout the contest period to
increase awareness of the Kraft Celebration Tour. An official Facebook fan
