MONTREAL, May 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Unibroue Brewery (La Brasserie Unibroue)
hopes that Québec City's 400th anniversary will be on everyone's lips when it
launches THE Quatre-centième, a special brew to commemorate the founding of
Québec City. Created by the passionate people at Unibroue, the Quatre-centième
will be available to Quebecers and beer lovers in more than 20 countries
worldwide, including the United States and France. Unibroue hopes this gesture
will enable everyone to share in Quebec City's 400th anniversary celebrations
and help popularize the festivities in the province and elsewhere in the
world.
For brewmaster Jerry Vietz and his team, Quatre-centième is a festive
beer. "We ware the official brewer of Quebec City's 400th anniversary Unibroue
and like other artisans in Quebec, we want to make a definite contribution to
the success of this historic event. We hope that Quebecers will appreciate
this superb beer, created thanks to the expertise and creativeness of
Unibroue's craftspeople. The Quatre-centième is a Belgian style double ale,
with a strong profile and slightly tart. We managed to balance four spices:
one for each century of Quebec City's history. The Quatre-centième is golden,
a little cloudy, and because of Unibroue's unique bottle fermentation process,
its substantial head is remarkably long-lasting. We are proud of the result."
According to Stéphane Berranger, brand manager at Unibroue, the event is
an important one. "We are a brewer of history. Unibroue has always been proud
of its origins, as the names of its products attest: La Fin du Monde, la
Maudite and the popular Blanche de Chambly. So we are presenting a unique
product today that proudly sports the Quebec City coat of arms. It is a
festive product that will go well with all summer and fall celebrations, and
enable Quebecers from all regions to share in the history of Quebec City. This
is our contribution to Quebec City's 400th anniversary celebrations." Stéphane
Berranger noted.
Unibroue's new ale, the Quatre-centième, is available now in all regions
of Quebec in 750 mL bottles and on tap. A limited-edition series of 400
6-litre bottles will also be available during the year.
The official brewer of Quebec City's 400th anniversary, Unibroue is also
the of "Viens chanter ton histoire!" which will be held on July 15 on the
Plains of Abraham in Québec City. Yet another way in which Unibroue invites
Quebecers everywhere to join in celebrating the Old Capital's history.
