Greyhound Canada Offers New Holiday Travel Discounts

BURLINGTON, Ontario, Dec. 18 /CNW/ -- Greyhound Canada customers can take
advantage of some new travel discounts when visiting family and friends over
the holidays. A number of discounts will help make customers' travel plans a
little easier on their overall expenses. One area where customers will notice discounted rates is with e-fares. A
20-percent discount on e-fares has been expanded to include more locations for
passengers. Seventeen new locations are now part of the e-fares discounts,
including Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Windsor, Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Red Deer,
Kamloops, Penticton, Prince George, Coquitlam, Winnipeg, Brandon, Thunder Bay,
Thompson, The Pas and Kenora. These locations join Calgary, Edmonton, Fort
McMurray, Grande Prairie, Vancouver and Vernon."The discount gives our customers some extra savings, which means they'll
have more money to take with them on their trip during this holiday period,"
said Stuart Kendrick, senior vice president, Greyhound Canada. "Added to the
savings they'll receive, customers do not have to worry about any restrictions
for online e-fare purchases."Up to a 60-percent savings is available for customers buying advance
purchase (AP) tickets. Greyhound Canada has also scaled back the discount
blackout period that was previously in place for AP tickets. The number of
blackout dates has been reduced from 12 to five: Dec. 19, 20, 23, 24 and 30.Customers buying tickets also will receive a 20-percent discount coupon
for holiday shipping with Greyhound Courier Express (GCX). GCX offers rates as
low as one-third the price of its competitors with same-day and overnight
shipping options, including on Christmas Eve. There is also no cut-off holiday
shipping date."We're a unique shipping service because we use the Greyhound Canada bus
system to ship packages," said Dave Phillips, vice president, GCX. "Therefore,
we never close and we always deliver because our buses don't stop running
during the holidays."Customers also can receive a discount GCX coupon for shipping in January
and February when they ship packages this month. Another gift idea customers
can take advantage of is Houndbucks. These certificates make great stocking
stuffers and have a $10 or $20 cash value that can be used for tickets or
shipping. For more information regarding the holiday travel discounts, please visit
