LAKE COUNTRY, BC, Oct. 5 /CNW/ - CanScribe Career Centre's President and
CEO Colleen Gaudet is proud to announce her successful participation in the
People to People Ambassador Program's Healthcare Documentation and Data
Capture Delegation in China from September 16 to 28, 2007, having visited
Beijing, Guilin and Shanghai over the 12-day period.
CanScribe Career Centre, Canada's fully interactive on-line Medical
Transcription School, was the only Canadian representative in the delegation
led by Dr. Peter Perziosi, Executive Director of the Association for
Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI).
"It was an incredible honour and achievement to be invited to the
international delegation with AHDI through the People to People Ambassador
Program," says Colleen Gaudet, President and CEO with CanScribe Career Centre.
"As well as presenting as part of our delegation in roundtable discussions, I
was asked to lecture to Chinese students at the Capital Medical University,
providing a brief overview of the Medical Transcription Industry in North
America and discussing CanScribe's Medical Transcription Program in Canada."
As part of the Healthcare Documentation and Data Capture Delegation,
Gaudet had the opportunity to meet with a number of prominent Chinese
counterparts, including the:- Department of Medical Record of Peking Union of Medical College
Hospital
- Chinese Medical Record Association
- Information Department of the Hospital affiliated to Guilin Medical
College
- Liutang Center Clinic
- Changhae Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and
Western Medicine
- Shanghai Medical Exchange Centre"The Delegation proved to be an educational and rewarding experience for
all," explains Gaudet. "I engaged in highly focused, productive discourse with
regards to how the Medical Transcription industry works in North American and
how we can help our Chinese counterparts to successfully implement a Medical
Transcription industry within their country. There may also be a great
opportunity for CanScribe to help the Chinese develop an educational program
to train qualified Medical Transcriptionists."

Transcription Course is available throughout Canada via on-line enrollment.
CanScribe remains the only Canadian school that has been approved by the
Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (ACCP), a joint committee
established by AHDI and the American Health Information Management Association
(AHIMA), which certifies and approves medical transcription education
programs. There are currently only 10 approved Medical Transcription programs
in all of North America.
