New Era 'Hits a Home Run' With Kids for the Inaugural 'New Era Cap Classic'

- New Era Will Offer Scholarships to Disadvantaged Youth Baseball Teams
    Promoting Their Participation in its First Annual Tournament in Buffalo -BUFFALO, N.Y., April 14 /CNW/ -- New Era Cap Co., Inc., the leading
headwear designer and manufacturer, has announced it is offering scholarships
to underprivileged youth baseball teams for participation in its inaugural
"New Era Cap Classic (NECC) Baseball Tournament" in Buffalo, New York this
coming July.  Teams from around the country will congregate in Western New
York to compete in the baseball tournament.  One scholarship will be awarded
in each of the six age groups playing in the NECC.
    This NECC scholarship aims to provide disadvantaged youth baseball teams
with an opportunity to increase their level of competition, gauge individual
and team progress and experience playing at a tournament level.  To be
considered for this scholarship, every player on a team must be a U.S.
Resident or a Canadian Resident and every player on the team must reside in
one of the following cities:  Buffalo, NY; New York City, NY (including the 5
boroughs); Toronto Ontario, Canada; or Atlanta, GA.  The chosen teams will
have their entry fee to the tournament waived; receive $2,500 in cash, and
receive over 2 dozen New Era baseball caps embroidered with their team's logo.
