GO pays tribute to veterans with free travel on Remembrance Day

TORONTO, Nov. 3, 2008 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, November 11, GO Transit will
help honour the many men and women who have served to protect Canada by
offering war veterans and a companion free, all day travel on GO Transit.
Veterans are asked to identify themselves by wearing their medals, beret,
blazer, uniform, or other similar belongings while travelling.
Immediate family members of deceased veterans may also ride for free that
day. GO requests that relatives carry something to identify their relation to
the late veteran, such as service papers or an identification card.
The Royal Canadian Legion will be selling poppies until November 11 at
these GO stations: Mimico, Exhibition, Danforth, Scarborough, Eglinton,
Guildwood, Rouge Hill, Dixie, Weston, Etobicoke North, Old Cummer, and
Agincourt.
For specific information about train or bus times, the public can call
416.869.3200, 1.888.GET ON GO (438.6646), or 1.800.387.3652 TTY, or check the
