Forest fires in northern Quebec affect Via Rail Canada's service between Montreal and Senneterre.


    MONTREAL, May 27 /CNW Telbec/ - VIA Rail Canada has announced that due to
forest fires in Northern Quebec, there will be some changes to trains
operating between Montreal and Senneterre on May 28th and 29th, in both
directions.
    On May 28th, train 603, originating in Montreal, will end its route at La
Tuque. There is no alternate transportation for passengers travelling past La
Tuque. In the other direction, on May 29th, train 604, will originate from La
Tuque, and not Senneterre.
    No other VIA service is affected by this situation.
    Customers wishing further information may call 1-888-VIA-RAIL.
    At this time, no decision has been taken concerning VIA's operations on
this route for the rest of the week. VIA will issue an update as required.
