TORONTO, April 25 /CNW/ - At 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008, the
Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will release the
Pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP), 2007: Ontario Report: English-Language
Students.
PCAP was administered in Ontario by EQAO on behalf of the provincial
government. It is an initiative of the Council of Ministers of Education,
Canada and was administered to 13-year-old students, who were mostly in Grade
8 or 9. In Ontario, 2476 English-language students from 154 schools and 2132
French-language students from 183 schools participated.
Reading, mathematics and science tests were administered in the spring of
2007 to randomly selected students in a random sample of schools with a random
assignment of test booklets. Individual student, school and school board
results will therefore not be available.
Highlights of the provincial results and a complete PCAP, 2007: Ontario
Report: English-Language Students will be available on EQAO's Web site,
www.eqao.com, as of 11:30 a.m. on April 28.
