KELOWNA, BC and EDMONTON, May 12 /CNW/ - TOTAL TELCOM INC. (TSX Venture:
TTZ) is pleased to announce today that its wholly owned subsidiary ROM
Communications Inc. has added Marine Certification to its existing "ROMTraX"
product line. Sea trials over the last year aboard the Canadian Coastguard
Icebreaker "CCG Henry Larsen" stationed in the North Atlantic as well as a
number of commercial fishing vessels on the West Coast were very successful.
The ROMTraX Marine Edition is now commercially available and has most recently
been installed aboard the Coastguard Icebreaker "CCG Terry Fox".
The ROMTraX product line is a proprietary best of class mobile
asset/resource management system using the Iridium satellite network and
various terrestrial based wireless networks. ROM Communications developed this
product line to meet new Legislative and Industrial safety requirements
including applications for GPS tracking, work alone, electronic driver's logs,
remote messaging, productivity and maintenance.
CEO Neil Magrath stated, "ROMTraX reflects ROM's strategic shift from low
volume custom applications to a more main stream volume based
commercialization." Magrath further stated, "We have outsourced the
manufacturing of key components and are currently looking at a 3rd party final
assembly and commissioning solution to help meet current and anticipated
demands for these products."
