Jackson-Triggs 2012 Awards continue to keep "Canada's Most Awarded Winery" on top
NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON, July 6, 2012 /CNW/ - Hard work and dedication pays off for Jackson-Triggs as both Niagara and Okanagan Estate Wineries continue to collect significant awards from recent international and Canadian wine competitions including the International Wine and Spirits Competition, Decanter World Wine Awards, the All Canadian Wine Championships, Selections Mondials des Vins Canada and the San Francisco International Wine Championships.
Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate Winemakers Derek Kontkanen and Brooke Blair along with Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winemaker Marco Piccoli, have been awarded over 95 medals between them.
Three key awards were won by Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Estate including the Decanter REGIONAL TROPHY for SPARKLING (under 10 pounds), the 2012 Lieutenant Governor's Awards for Excellence in British Columbia Wines for 2008 ENTOURAGE Sparkling Chardonnay, and BEST OF NATION in the San Francisco International Wine Championships. As the largest and most respected international competition in the United States, Jackson-Triggs Okanagan stood out in the latter competition amongst over 1,300 wineries from 26 states and 29 countries.
Heavily supported by strong and dedicated viticulture teams and growers, the Jackson-Triggs Winemakers are able to apply their talents and skills to award winning wines.
While Jackson-Triggs has garnered many awards over the years for table wines and Icewines, this year marks a significant milestone for recognition for our Sparkling Wines with 10 awards. Jackson-Triggs has expanded the Sparkling portfolio to include ENTOURAGE Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Methode Classique and the original Cuve Close Sparkling. The consumer's demand for "bubbles" has inspired our winemakers to invest the time and effort into producing stunning Sparkling wines in the traditional method under the ENTOURAGE label.
