TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - Nothing can keep Canada's top chili aficionados
from competing in the ZANTAC® Chili Challenge - not even
'snowmageddon!' The whiteout weather earlier this month has only fired
up our finalists, who will now compete on Wednesday, February 16th in
After an intensive cross-country search for the nation's best chili,
Canada's top chili aficionados from Ontario, Nova Scotia and British
Columbia are gearing up for their chance to win the title of Chili
Challenge champion - and a trip for two to the Mayan Riviera.
These three finalists' original and most prized chili recipes were
selected from 300 submitted by Canadians over the past few months.
After competing in regional cook-offs across the country, the chili
champs are now bringing their heat to the final cook-off event.
This is the first year that regional finalists have come together to
spice things up in Toronto. And not only will they face fierce
competition from each other - they're set to go head to head with
two-year undefeated ZANTAC® Chili Challenge champion Mike Callaghan
from London, Ontario!
Contestants will prepare their chili recipes live for a panel of judges
including celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak, who will ultimately determine
the grand prize winner. Can Mike's recipe take the heat or will a new
champion be crowned?
Join us for the live chili throwdown where you'll have the opportunity
to taste each chili recipe for yourself, meet the finalists as well as
speak with Anthony Sedlak about what it takes to create a winning taste
combination. To view the finalists' recipes, visit www.chilichallenge.ca.
