CANADIANS WILL ONCE AGAIN VOTE TO SEND ENTIRE MINOR LEAGUE HOCKEY TEAM
RINKSIDE IN DECEMBER
CALGARY, Sept. 7, 2011 /CNW/ - Once more, minor league hockey teams in
communities all across Canada will have their opportunity to convince
Canadians they love hockey the most, thanks to the return of TIM-BR
MART's World Junior Hockey Video Challenge. Up for grabs is a grand
prize that will send the entire team rink side at this December's World
Junior tournament in Edmonton, AB.
Using the downloadable TIM-BR MART anthem as music, eligible teams can
video their team spirit showing why they love hockey the most and
should be guests of TIM-BR MART for four days at the upcoming World
Juniors. Videos can be uploaded to www.timbrtube.ca. Canadians will vote for their favourite for just 15 days from November
13 (12:00:01EST) to November 27 (11:59:59EST).
The winning entry—including parents/guardians and coaches—will enjoy
roundtrip transportation to Edmonton, accommodations, meals and tickets
to World Juniors games over December 27 - 30, 2011; it's a prize worth
up to $60,000, if won by a Nova Scotia team, for example. Teams are
also vying for Source for Sports gift cards as second, third and
wildcard prizes ($5,000, $2,500 and $2,500 respectively).
Team members must be between the ages of 7 and 14 inclusive and the
designated team entrant be age-of-majority in his/her province or
territory of residence. The contest runs until November 27th, 2011.
TIM-BR MART Dealers across Canada will be supporting the contest with
in-store signage, ongoing promotions in their flyers as well as
community outreach efforts to customers, hockey parents, coaches and
teams. Social media will once more play a big role in the success of
the Video Challenge with things like a facebook fanpage, a youtube page plus regular tweets from the Challenge's 'Ref' on twitter (@timbrref).
