Firm capacity between Dawn, Kirkwall and Parkway starting as early as
Nov. 1, 2016
CHATHAM, ON, Nov. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Union Gas is holding a binding open season for incremental firm capacity
of up to 1,000,000 GJ/d beginning in 2016 along the following
(a) Dawn to Parkway;
(b) Dawn to Kirkwall; and
(c) Kirkwall to Parkway.
The open season offers firm access to not only the liquidity and
diversity of the Dawn Hub, but also access to Marcellus supplies from
Dawn, Niagara and Chippawa. Customers in eastern Canada and the U.S.
Northeast can access these supply points by aligning Union Gas
transportation service with capacity on TransCanada and interconnecting
systems in the U.S.
"Changing North American natural gas supply dynamics have increased
market demand for Dawn to Parkway transportation capacity. Customers
are seeking access to the security, diversity and affordability of
supply sourced at the Dawn Hub," said Mark Isherwood, vice president of
business development, storage and transmission at Union Gas.
The Dawn Hub, one of the fastest growing market hubs in North America,
is the largest integrated natural gas storage facility in Canada and
one of the biggest in North America. Storage and transmission
facilities at the Dawn Hub are fully integrated into the North American
natural gas supply and transportation system providing shippers with
price stability and diversity and security of supply.
The binding open season runs from Nov. 21, 2013, through Jan. 22, 2014.
