TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - The Parkdale Community Food Bank will hold its
first ever art auction and fundraiser tonight, with Gallery Moos at the
St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts.
Gallery Moos is offering up a selection of work by well-known
contemporary Canadian and international artists as well as pieces by
local Parkdale artists and food bank users at the live auction to raise
money for the food bank, located in one of the city's poorest
"The cultural sector makes a huge contribution to the well-being of our
communities," said Food Bank Executive Director Robert Thorpe. "These
artists, with Gallery Moos, are putting their efforts and talents
towards making sure we're able to continue the important work of the

Leading up to the event, Gallery Moos will display some of the auction
pieces at the food bank, which will be open for viewings by

The show is being curated by Gallery Moos' Rupert Young, who has
generously volunteered his time to pull together the event on behalf of
