LONDON, ON, Nov. 16, 2011 /CNW/ - On Friday, November 11th, 2011, the London Detachment RCMP Drug Section, with the assistance of
the London Police Service, arrested and charged three (3) London area
residents after a joint investigation of alleged drug trafficking
Bernard Laroche (63 years of age) and Rejeane Oullette (53 years of age)
of London, Ontario have both been charged under the Controlled Drugs
and Substances Act with possession of several controlled substances for
the purpose of trafficking including codeine, hydromorphone, marihuana,
methylphenidate and oxycodone. In addition, Laroche and Ouellette were
charged under the Criminal Code for possession of a prohibited weapon.
Roger Hill (49 years of age) of London, Ontario has been charged with
possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking.
"The London RCMP remains committed to working with our partners to build
safe communities," stated Inspector Dwight Blok, officer in charge of
the London RCMP Detachment. "This is another example of successful team
work in our goal to eliminate drugs and weapons from our streets.
These types of pharmaceuticals may cause significant harm to the public
if obtained and utilized without the authorization and monitoring of a
physician or health care professional."
During the course of this investigation a van was seized as offence
related property and over $2,000.00 in Canadian currency was seized as
proceeds of crime. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated
to be in excess of $100,000. The investigation to identify further
proceeds of crime is ongoing.
Rejeane Oullette and Roger Hill will appear in London court on January 6th, 2012. Bernard Laroche remains in custody.
