The Westcliff Group inaugurates the first construction phase of its Symphonia residential tower on Nuns' Island

MONTREAL, Nov. 3, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Mr. Alan Marcovitz, President of the Westcliff Group, the largest private real estate company in Quebec, attended a groundbreaking ceremony this morning, inaugurating the construction of its flagship tower as part of the Nuns' Island Symphonia project. In attendance was Verdun Mayor, Claude Trudel, among other distinguished guests.

The first Symphonia tower will comprise 25 floors and 171 luxury condominiums. Located only a few minutes from downtown Montreal, Symphonia stands on the Island's southern tip: the most prestigious area of Nuns' Island. "The first phase of Symphonia will generate almost 70 million dollars in investment and will create over 1,000 jobs on Nuns' Island. We believe that this development will be very beneficial for the entire community, with tax benefits of over 1 million dollars yearly." said Mr. Marcovitz.

Symphonia is an Eco-Friendly project that was designed to preserve adjacent natural surroundings and to optimize the relationship between the building, its residents, and the environment. It will be built to strict environmental standards, including the use of recycled and locally-sourced materials, as well energy-efficient air conditioning and heating systems.

Westcliff's reputation is based on 40 years of experience in development, construction and management of major real estate projects in Canada and the United States. Supported by a team of over 500 people, including 100 professionals headquartered in Montreal, Westcliff has a proven track record when it comes to its ability to identify and develop real estate projects with growth potential. The company recently partnered on the spectacular Beauxarts tower, a 20 storey architectural masterpiece on Sherbrooke Street, as well as contributing to the residential development of Nuns' Island.
