LA MOTTE, QC, March 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Mayor of the
municipality of La Motte, René Martineau, wishes to congratulate
Cardinal Marc Ouellet even though the College of Cardinals has elected
another Cardinal as head of the Catholic Church. "We are extremely proud that a native of La Motte has stirred as much
enthusiasm. Cardinal Ouellet certainly put our municipality on the map."
For the small community of about 450 people, the past few weeks have
been a whirlwind of activity, with dozens of journalists visiting the
area to learn a little more about the man who has made headlines
worldwide. "We are fully aware of the media exposure this uncommon
situation has given to this part of the country. We thank the media
representatives we have had the opportunity to meet for their
courtesy," says Martineau.
In a few days, our elected officials, municipal authorities and the
people of La Motte will return to their normal life. "We will be proud
to salute Mgr Ouellet on his next visit to his native village, where he
can always find peace and rest," concludes the Mayor of La Motte.
