TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2011 /CNW/ - Today Andrea Horwath joined Tim Hudak in
opposing time-of-use pricing for electricity. At least we think she
To be honest following her media availability in Ottawa, it wasn't
really clear what she plans to do.
At least Tim Hudak had an answer today - he said he was going to raise
rates 44% during the times people use most of their electricity.
Horwath said she would… well, it's not really clear. She was asked four
different times what she planned to do with smart meters, whether she
would keep time of use pricing, scrap it, or bring in a new pricing
scheme, and she just didn't know.
She's had some time now to think about it. Is Horwath going to hug up
to Hudak's hydro hypocrisy? Or does she support smart meters? Or does
she still not know?
Kind of reminds us of her visit to North Bay where she promised to
cancel a $120 million without knowing whether or not it was signed and
how much it would cost to cancel. She didn't know the details there
either and ultimately her staff told reporters she might not do what
she said anyway.
