Premier's Leadership On Display For Voters In Televised Leaders' Debate
TORONTO, Sept. 27, 2011 /CNW/ - Premier Dalton McGuinty proved in the
televised leaders' debate that only the Ontario Liberals can provide
the strong, steady leadership that Ontario needs now, says Ontario
Liberal Campaign Chair Greg Sorbara.
"These are perilous economic times. The world is changing fast, and
Ontarians know that in these times we need strong, steady leadership.
We saw in tonight's debate that there's only one person who will
provide this." Sorbara said. "It's clear that person is Dalton
Sorbara said the Premier's comments during the debate underscore how
Dalton McGuinty leads a strong team with a strong record and strong
plan for Ontario. "Only the Ontario Liberals have the record — in
job-creation, education and retraining, health care, the environment
and building a clean-energy economy. And Dalton McGuinty is the only
leader with the skills and experience to keep building on this record
in perilous times," Sorbara said.
"Ontarians want to move forward, together. Ontario Liberals moved
quickly during the last recession to protect hundreds of thousands of
jobs for our families. And as the Premier so clearly said, we're still
building and creating tens of thousands of new jobs — building transit
and infrastructure, hospitals and a new, clean-energy economy," Sorbara
"Now is not the time for experimentation or political expedience.
Ontario families know that an Ontario Liberal government with Dalton
McGuinty's leadership will both protect and keep building what we have
worked so hard to achieve — improving our schools and health care,
taking care of our air, water and green space and creating good jobs in
a growing economy," Sorbara added.
"I'm glad Ontarians got to see, in the debate, the kind of leader Dalton
McGuinty is — the right leader for Ontario in perilous economic times.
What we have accomplished so far in the last eight years is nothing
short of amazing. "
