TORONTO, Sept. 7, 2011 /CNW/ - With the election underway and just one
day before Ontarians can begin voting at Elections Ontario offices, the
scrambling NDP campaign spiked their Thornhill standard-bearer and
Andrea Horwath is unable to find candidates in at least two more
The NDP is the only party still without a full slate of candidates.
The NDP bumped their Thornhill candidate for undisclosed reasons, but
NDP MPP Gilles Bisson said it wasn't because of Barry Weisleder's
published criticism of Israel:
"Every party has candidates who have very strong views on issues and are
sometime colourful and that's democracy...That's not what this is all

Horwath is also facing criticism for breaking her own pledge to run more
women candidates this election than the previous campaign.
