SciCan, a Toronto based manufacturer of infection control products and solutions with subsidiaries in Canonsburg, PA, Leutkirch, Germany, and Zug, Switzerland merged with dental and industrial manufacturer SycoTec and French endodontic specialist Micro-Mega (Besancon) in February 2010.
"From now on our new Group will operate as the Sanavis Group," explains Dr. Martin Rickert, Executive Chairman of the Group. "The new group will strategically represent and support our growing portfolio of innovative brands in the future. We are very pleased to begin the process of introducing Sanavis and our evolving group structure to the dental industry over the coming months."
The Sanavis Group now forms one of the 10 largest companies in the dental industry.
The new group will be managed by Dr. Martin Rickert as Executive Chairman who will follow a management model that maintains independence within the individual companies under the new group's administrative and strategic umbrella. The main principle behind the new structure is to make decisions where they actually occur. That will be applied to all three companies. Also their brands will remain in their present form.
Executive Chairman Dr. Martin Rickert and Chairman Arthur Zwingenberger describe the opportunities resulting from the newly formed Sanavis Group as follows:
-- Market access: The distribution networks of all three companies will
selling the products of the entire group. Further opportunities for
SycoTec and Micro-Mega will result in North America based on SciCan's
market presence and SciCan will be able to establish itself even
in Europe based on the strengths of SycoTec and Micro-Mega. Together
will also be possible to strengthen the group's presence in Asia.
-- Complete Provider: SycoTec, Micro-Mega and SciCan will provide
full-spectrum solutions - offering dentists and doctors a 'one stop
shop,' from instruments to motors to the entire reprocessing system.
-- Synergies: Synergies are being created in administration, at trade
shows, in the IT and in research and development. No job cuts are
planned due to the new structure. "We want to do more business - not
