TORONTO, May 5 /CNW Telbec/ - Rockcliff Resources Inc. (RCR: TSXV) is pleased to announce that a first phase drill program at its 100% owned Lon Deposit west of Snow Lake, Manitoba, has been successfully completed.  Fifteen drill holes totalling over 5,000m identified significant VMS (copper-zinc) mineralization at the Lon Deposit across approximately 150m of strike length and to a vertical depth of 300m.  The deposit remains open in all directions and is hosted within a favourable VMS trend that is located on the property for a distance of approximately 15km.  Additional drilling and exploration will be required to determine the extent of mineralization of the deposit and define additional areas within this favourable VMS trend.

*Hole L11-03 tested two isolated geophysical conductors and did not intersect significant mineralization

Drilling targeted the Lon Zone mineralized trend where previous drilling (1950s) discovered the Lon Deposit (non-compliant with NI 43-101).  Mineralization consisting of chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrite and pyrrhotite is hosted in juvenile arc rocks.  The favourable juvenile arc rock package trends on the property for a distance of approximately 15 km.   Juvenile arc rocks of the Flin Flon greenstone belt host all of the known mines in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake mining camps and represent high priority geological trends for the discovery of VMS deposits.

Ken Lapierre, P.Geo., President & CEO of Rockcliff Resources Inc. and Mark Smethurst, P.Geo., M.Sc., VP Exploration of Rockcliff Resources Inc., are Qualified Persons under the definition of National Instrument 43-101.  Mr. Lapierre has reviewed and is responsible for all information in this press release.  Mr. Smethurst is responsible for verification and quality assurance of Rockcliff's exploration data and analytical results.  Samples of half core are packaged and shipped directly from Rockcliff's field office to TSL Laboratories (TSL), Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  TSL is a Canadian assay laboratory and is accredited under ISO/IEC 17025.   Each bagged core sample is dried, crushed to 70% passing 10 mesh and a 250g pulp is pulverized to 95% passing 150 mesh for assaying.  A 0.5g cut is taken from each pulp for base metal analyses and leached in a multi acid (total) digestion and then analyzed for copper, lead, zinc and silver by atomic absorption.  Gold concentrations are determined by fire assay using a 30g charge followed by an atomic absorption finish.  Samples greater than upper detection limit (3000 ppb) are reanalyzed using fire assay gravimetric using a 1 AT charge.   Rockcliff inserted certified blanks and standards in the sample stream to ensure lab integrity.
