QUÉBEC, Nov. 25, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The resounding success of the 57th
annual Quebec Winter Carnival, in collaboration with Loto-Quebec, has
allowed the organization to take the prestigious 2011 Event of the Year, awarded annually with the goal of recognizing excellence in the Canadian
Tourism Industry. The Carnival team received the prize during the
Canadian Tourism Awards on Thursday in Ottawa.
For Jean Pelletier, General Director of Quebec Winter Carnival, "This
proof of recognition is the result of strategic choices over the last
few years. Every year, we strive to offer things that have never been
seen before and to create the most innovative and audacious
programming. Carnival continues to prove its popularity with
international visitors, tourists, and overseas media."
Over the course of the last few years, we have made a huge effort to
improve our product and to meet the expectations of our visitors who
are seeking a truly unique Quebec experience. The addition of new sites
and shows, adding exciting sports, an amazing nightlife, and
family-friendly activities have allowed us to improve the quality of
our tourism services and highlight the spirit of the celebrations. By
creating strong attractions and reinforcing traditional and classic
activities, Carnival has been innovating and positioning itself as the
benchmark for winter festivals offering a complete tourist experience
in a unique atmosphere to Canadians and Quebecers.
