TORONTO, April 21 /CNW/ - The Canadian Journalism Foundation would like
to congratulate ProjetJ reporter Anne Caroline Desplanques on her
nomination in the Audio/Video Reporting category of les Grands prix du
journalisme indépendant for her story Lock-out au JdeM: quel impact sur
le moral des troupes?
For the story, Anne Caroline interviewed three Journal de Montreal journalists about the effects of a 21-month-long lockout on their
personal and professional lives. On January 24, 2009, the management of the JdeM locked out its unionized staff. It continued to publish with the use of
strikebreakers, managers, and wire services until the union voted to
accept a deal on February 26, 2011.
Anne Caroline has been reporting, writing and editing for ProjetJ since
the summer of 2010, having previously worked at various news media
organizations including Radio-Canada, La Presse and CIBL Radio
Montréal. Most recently she was the Business and Technology reporter at
Les Grands prix du journalisme indépendant is an awards program that
aims to celebrate the quality of independent journalism produced in
Quebec, including written press, radio, television, photojournalism and
editorial illustration. The awards are an initiative of the Association
of the independent journalists of Quebec (AJIQ). The winners will be
announced at awards gala on June 2 in Montreal.
